We also know that boating safety is the most important part of making sure your day on the water stays stress-free and fun. Erwin Marine Sales offers boating instruction and education classes throughout the year. Details can be found on our event calendar at erwinmarine.com.
We would like to make you aware of these upcoming safety classes designed to educate and make you more comfortable at the helm and be the best (and safest) boater you can be.
Our Spring Locking Class (originally scheduled for March 24) is coming up on Saturday, April 7th.
At this free event, you will learn all about locking through the Chickamauga Dam Locks…. what to do and what not to do.
Come Boaters, one and all! The class is Saturday, April 7, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon EST
This is a FREE event but you must REGISTER!
The class is all about locking through and is taught by the Lockmaster of Chickamauga Dam and our seasoned Captains here at Erwin Marine.
This class is perfect for the new boater and an excellent refresher course for the more experienced. There will also be plenty of chances for Q & A.
Space is very limited.
America’s Boating Course
The Chattanooga Sail and Power Squadron (CSPS) will be teaching the United States Power Squadron America’s Boating Course on Saturday, Apil 7, 2018, and again on Sunday, April 15, 2018. The cost is $40.
America’s Boating Course includes:
types of boats and their uses
boating laws, both federal and state
safety equipment, both required and recommended
finding your way, and adverse conditions
trailering, knots and lines, and water sports topics
The class includes a final examination that satisfies the TWRA Boating Safety Class requirements. If you need a TWRA issued boating safety education card, you must purchase a $10 boat safety Type 600 Exam Permit from any business (licensed agent) that sells hunting and fishing licenses (Wal-Mart, Academy Sports, bait stores, marinas, etc.). The receipt from this transaction is your “ticket” to take the exam, and you must bring the exam “ticket” to the examination administrator (required only if you want to obtain a TWRA boating safety education card). The exam permit fee is in addition to the class fee. The permit will not be available for purchase at the class site.
For additional information or to sign up for a class, e-mail Bob at firstname.lastname@example.org
