A couple of months ago, we said goodbye to a great man. On June 7, 2018, Louis “Kayo” Erwin Sr. passed away from this world into the next. He was a friend to all who knew him, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also one of the last remaining U.S.S. Indianapolis Survivors.
Mr. Erwin lived most of his life in East Ridge, Tennessee. This month, the city of East Ridge named a portion of Ringgold Road after him to honor his memory.

What a great Honor. May I’m Rip and always b remembered for the man he was and his service…..
Sad to hear of Mr. Erwins passing – our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
